Temple Sinai Sisterhood extends a heartfelt invitation to you to join our dynamic group of women.  

Why join Sisterhood?  There are many reasons - make lifelong connections with other Jewish women, have fun, and support our Temple - all at the same time.

I am honored and delighted to be President for the next two years.  We have a terrific board working hard to have us function well as an organization.    A variety of programs will be planned throughout the year.  Gatherings will be fun, to do good work, and be educational, but most will incorporate all of these objectives. Several examples  will be a talk on protecting ourselves when out of our homes, touring a renowned French Quarter business, and hosting a dessert reception after the Rosh Hashanah evening service.  The board welcomes your suggestions, having already incorporated some of your ideas in this year’s calendar.  Our goal is to have Sisterhood work for everyone and be something that you will want to be a part of.

Founded in 1900, Temple Sinai’s Sisterhood is dedicated to furthering every interest of the congregation, fellowship and cultivating religious and educational programs. 

Sisterhood is a great place to cultivate friendships while enjoying study, worship, advocacy, and social events. Your participation provides assistance to our Temple, our youth, and the community.

We welcome Sisters of all ages, backgrounds, and in all stages of life.  Whether you have just graduated college, have small children at home, work full-time, have retired, or something in-between, there is something magical about women supporting women, sharing their knowledge and offering their friendship and counsel. We are women on a mission to inspire the women of Temple Sinai to build enduring relationships with Torah, Reform Judaism, and each other through education, service, and support to the Temple and broader community.  We are women who study together, play and laugh together, worship together and work together toward goals of Tikkun Olam – making the world a better place. And, we’d love to have you join us. 

Temple Sinai Sisterhood is an affiliate of Women of Reform Judaism (WRJ), providing high-quality programming and resources, invaluable leadership education, opportunities to advocate for the rights of others, and so much more. As an affiliate of WRJ, our voices combine with other like-minded women worldwide will show that the power of women organizing to make a difference.
